Many people meet their significant other online, but online dating is n’t the only way to find love. A majority of couples ( 39 % ) say they met in traditional ways, such as through friends or at work. And a smaller percentage ( 2 % ) found each other at a bar, event or restaurant.

In the past season, about three in ten individuals say they’ve used an online dating site or software. But the reveal of those who have done therefore varies by age and money. Adults who are never married and those with college degrees are more likely to have tried dating sites or apps than those who do n’t have a bachelor’s or higher degree. Adults with lower wages are also more possible to apply dating apps than those with higher incomes.

While most people say they’ve been on at least one first date that did n’t go well, only 16 % have never had a bad one. According to this questionnaire, first times that do n’t end properly are often the consequence of a few common missteps. These include being to nerve, spending too much time on a cellphone, drinking too much and making overly several quips.

It may not come as a surprise that most people agree that a second meeting really contain eating. In reality, about half of those surveyed say it’s the most important thing on a day. But where to go and what to get are up for debate. For illustration, 70 % of those 60 and older enjoy taking their time out to feed, while merely 60 % of people age 18 to 29 agree with this alternative.
